Key Points

• Sohrab Bakhtiari‑zadeh carefully weighs the condition and form of Esteghlal players, after completing the group a few days before facing Tractor in Iran's Liga Pro.
• حدروس و غياب سهراب در تعليق استقلاب!(عكس).

Sohrab Bakhtiari‑zadeh has been closely monitoring Esteghlal's training session this week as the tough match against Tractor in Iran's League Pro approaches. After a strong start to the first few weeks of the season—which gave supporters confidence and high hopes—the new head coach knew he needed to keep the momentum going with a win to stay on track. Preparations have not been easy during this FIFA window in September. Attendance at many sessions has been poor due to the loan of national teams—from senior to U23—in addition to the imports of some and the longer rest of some foreign players. As a result, several rehearsals had to be performed without the group being complete. However, in the last two to three days, Bakhtiari‑zadeh has completed his staff. Here he tightened the analysis even further: paper and pen in hand as he jotted down key observations on each player—from movement in small sided games to defensive discipline and transition speed. He aims to bet on the best combination based on form and conditions to present the most solid starting line-up against Tractor in week 8 of the league.

For Bakhtiari‑zadeh, the detailed selection is important: it's not just about the name, but the level of readiness, scope of work within the system, and how the pairs match each line. Competition for positions is expected to be fierce, especially in the center and flanks where the balance of containment and creation is critical. The context of the match also has weight. Tractor is known as a team with a strong supporter base and is always a formidable opponent, so Esteghlal's level of preparation is naturally higher. Moreover, the goal was clear: get a crucial point to wrest the top from the talented team led by Javad Nekounam, and consolidate the position early in the season. In the end, the final decision of who sits and who starts rests on the final rehearsal. But the message from the head coach is clear: there is no room for complacency; whoever shows the best form in training will be given the chance on match day. Esteghlal fans have their eyes fixed on what changes and tactical fits Bakhtiari‑zadeh will bring out against Tractor to maintain their good start to the campaign.

What's next

Bakhtiari‑zadeh is expected to bring out his best lineup based on observations from previous rehearsals. This match will be a test for his strategy and ability to maximize the potential of his players against a strong opponent like Tractor.
