This situation may allow a deeper understanding of the dynamics of player development in the Premier League.

Key Points

• Brighton coach not surprised by Liverpool's interest in.
• Liverpool are interested in Yankuba Minteh and have raised their offer, but Brighton want a higher fee.
• Brighton-trainer not surprised by Liverpool interest in Minteh: 'Is mijn baan'.

Transfer talks continue in England after confirming that Liverpool are persistent in including Yankuba Minteh in their attack. According to the report, the Anfield side have sent an improved offer for the winger from Gambia, but Brighton are still unconvinced and are demanding a higher fee before opening the door to a possible departure for the player. On the Brighton side, coach Fabian Hürzeler was not surprised by the growing interest in some of his players, including Minteh. He said it was part of a Premier League club's job to get attention from bigger teams when they showed good form last season. Therefore, Brighton's stance is clear: if someone leaves, it must match the correct market value and the team's plan for the coming campaign. Minteh, a quick and direct attacking winger, became a household name in Europe after impressing for Feyenoord before becoming part of the Brighton project. His speed, off-the-ball movement, and ability to attack in spaces are the reason elite clubs are paying attention. In the context of Liverpool, there is also a logical connection: Minteh has worked with current Liverpool manager Arne Slot during his time at Feyenoord, something that may add to the Reds' confidence that he will adapt quickly to the demanding system.

However, the transfer remains a business. Brighton are known for smart market positioning—the standard for valuing their players is high, especially young talent with great potential. The club is also in no rush; it is important for the Seagulls to maintain the competitive depth of their squad in case the target amount is not met. For Liverpool, the addition of another speedy winger is a perfect response to the need to expand the option on the flanks, strengthen the rotation, and provide a fresh dynamic in the final third. But until there is an agreement on the value, the discussion will remain open and without finality. At the moment, only two things are clear: Liverpool have a serious interest and Brighton's position is solid. As the transfer window progresses, expect further negotiations and possible counter-offers. If the two sides come to an agreement, it is possible to see Minteh in a new phase of his career; otherwise, he will remain a key piece in Hürzeler's plan for another season in the Premier League.

What's next

Negotiations between Brighton and Liverpool are expected to continue as the summer transfer window becomes more active. If Liverpool cannot meet Brighton's asking price, Minteh could stay at the club and continue his development. However, should Liverpool be successful in their bid, they could land an important midfield signing that will help their attack next season.
