Context

Lloyd Kelly, as the Bianconero defender, played a key role in Juventus' defense against AZ Alkmaar. His insights on discipline and concentration could be critical to their success in the UEFA Europa League, especially as the team aims to demonstrate their ability at a high level of competition.

Why it matters

Juventus' match against AZ Alkmaar is important not only for their UEFA Europa League campaign but also for their season outlook in Serie A. The win against Napoli gave the team confidence, which could be key to their success in Europe. Having a good momentum can bring a positive match impact in their next match.

Key Points

• Juventus, Lloyd Kelly: “Winning against Napoli gave.
• Ahead of Juventus facing AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League, Lloyd Kelly insists the win against Napoli brought confidence and the team must stay focused to get the right result in Europe.
• Juventus, Kelly: "La vittoria col Napoli ci ha dato fiducia. Dobbiamo restare concentrati".

Lloyd Kelly insists it is important for Juventus to take confidence from their win against Napoli, but it is more important to stay sharp ahead of the UEFA Europa League clash with AZ Alkmaar. In an interview with Sky Sport before kickoff, the Bianconero defender said that the positive result in the league gave more belief in the team's system, especially as they enter a difficult battle in Europe where not a single minute can be taken lightly. The win against Napoli—one of Serie A's fiercest rivals—was an indication that Juventus can compete on big occasions. For Kelly and the entire defense, discipline at the back and proper spacing in each line opened up their control over the rhythm of the match. That is also the target the Bianconeri will repeat against AZ Alkmaar, a team from the Netherlands known for its organized attack and speed in the transition from defense to offense. While confidence may have been boosted after that win, Kelly cautioned that the challenge in Europe is different: the game is faster, the details are more scrutinized, and the punishment for small mistakes is harsher. "We have to stay focused," emphasized his message, at the same time reminding that the concentration from the first minute to the last whistle will determine who will take the initiative.

Tactical point of view, it is important for Juventus to organize the defense against the direct balls and quick combinations of AZ Alkmaar. Making sure the middle is protected, the flanks are well covered, and ready for second balls will be key to cutting off the flow of the Dutch offense. On the other hand, the Bianconeri need to make the most of set pieces and quick transitions, parts of the game where they can show their strength. In addition, Juventus faces a typical year in Europe with a tight schedule between continental and league. Because of this, rotation and fresh feet are important, but above all collective discipline: clear roles, careful ball management, and aggressive recovery when possession is lost. Kelly's role as a defensive leader—setting the line and calling the mark—is critical to keeping the team's back solid. In the end, Juventus carried the momentum from Serie A, but they knew—as Kelly warned—that momentum is not enough without focus and detail. It's up to the Bianconeri how they translate that confidence into a result in Europe, against an AZ Alkmaar side that is used to testing giant teams. It remains to be seen how the Turin side will execute their plan to gain the advantage in the series and continue their smooth campaign in the UEFA Europa League.

What's next

Juventus are expected to continue their good play in the UEFA Europa League, but they need to stay focused and disciplined. AZ Alkmaar, as a well-known UEFA Europa League club, are capable of providing a challenge, so the right strategy and concentration are key. The result of this match could set the tone for their next matches in both the league and Europe.
