• Portugal proved their depth after benching Cristiano Ronaldo and still beat Norway at their Stadium in Oslo, 2-1, in the UEFA Nations League.
• Nations League | 1-2: Portugal likes CR7 to Norway en una night terrible de Nyland.

Portugal produced another UEFA Nations League win after beating Noruega, 2-1, at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo despite Cristiano Ronaldo being without Cristiano Ronaldo in their starting twelve. With coach Jorge Jesus' decision to rest—CR7 was put on the bench to adjust minutes—Portugal's depth and courage floated against Erling Haaland who still led the attack for Noruega. Portugal's offense started in the 17th minute with a quick counter-attack. It originated with Nuno Mendes who single-handedly derailed three Norwegians. Pedro Neto connected from the left, fed Joao Félix who calmly finished from outside the area past Orjan Nyland. This is the second match in a row that Félix has scored, he also scored against Wales recently. Norway did not give in lightly. Antonio Nusa used his speed and skill, getting in the way of Joao Cancelo who even reached a yellow card. Martin Odegaard, captain of Noruega, also had a good pass and created a chance for their striker Haaland, but Diogo Costa made an important save. Haaland almost equalized before halftime but Rúben Dias of Portugal saved it. Entering the second half, Noruega was on a roll. In the 55th minute, Haaland equalized after kicking the ball from Patrick Berg's heading assist. This is Haaland's 65th goal in 57 games for Norway, proof of his ferocity as a striker. But Portugal got lucky when Nyland—the Norwegian goalkeeper—was twice in trouble. In the next minute, Nyland's pass went wrong and Gonçalo Ramos was able to chip the ball and regain the lead. Norway failed to recover. Portugal had another chance to increase the lead but Ramos missed the open goal. Another mistake by Nyland almost added a goal for Ramos but it was flagged offside by VAR. With this victory, Portugal moved to the top of Group A4 of the UEFA Nations League, 6 points from two games and showed strength even without their main stars like Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes. As for Noruega, there was a big disappointment in the home crowd, especially as many were hoping to survive against the new champion.
