Gian Piero Gasperini emphasized the value of the game shown after Roma and Napoli drew 3-3 on matchday 8 of Serie A. In an interview with DAZN, he said that such a performance against a strong Napoli served as a huge injection of confidence for their side—a message that clearly points to the lifting of belief and momentum in the long run of the league. The high score of 3-3 was a reflection of an open and lively match: both camps found a way to create and finish, while both also tried to adjust the rhythm quickly and aggressively. For Roma, bringing home a point from this type of battle against Napoli—known for their pace, attacking combinations, and midfield discipline—is a clear positive sign. Although the defense was not perfect, the game showed that the group had enough agility, courage and creativity to keep up with the caliber of opposition. Gasperini's statement can be read as a call to make this the foundation of consistency. With the length of the Serie A calendar, building a run of good results is important. When this level of play becomes the rule—high-energy, sharp in transition, and solid in critical minutes—confidence naturally follows: better ball handling, heavier pressure on the opposition, and clearer team identity.

For the supporters, the 3-3 against Napoli was not just an extra point on the table. It is also a symbol of the ability to fight to the end against the heavy names in Italy. Although Gasperini did not elaborate on the individual contributors to the scoreline, the overall tone of his message was clear: when this quality of play continues, the group's belief will grow and they will be better prepared for the challenges ahead. Serie A is known for its tactical depth and physical intensity. In this context, learning from a high-intensity match is critical. If Roma can carry the same defensive discipline and attacking prowess in the coming weeks, it could be a bulwark to open up more opportunities—whether to climb among the tight spots at the top of the table or to build credibility against fellow contenders. In the end, what Gasperini told DAZN serves as a clear barometer: it's not just about the points they got, but the quality of the game they showed. And if such a level becomes regular, there is a good chance that the team will rise steadily in the competition.

What's next

Roma are expected to use their demonstrated strength from this match as a foundation for their next games in Serie A. Having a good result against a strong team like Napoli can inspire the team to continue to develop their game and achieve a higher position in the league.
