According to him: "Gordon? What a player! What a 'fuoriclasse', my God. On the same level as... I don't know, I almost said Lamine. Young, brave, amazing one-on-one and so quick. What a fantastic job English football has done in producing players of this quality." Denia announced not only praise; he also gave a broader perspective about the development of a national team's identity. According to Denia, each country has its own identity that must be respected and nurtured, and success is the result of process and development: "You cannot change everything from one day; success does not come immediately, it is a journey. There are mistakes, but the goal must be clear. In the fifteen years that I have been with the youth selections, we have grown, evolved and adapted. Looking at what other federations are doing does not mean copying, but learning."

The praise for Gordon comes as he enjoys his good form during the current international break: he has three goals and one assist in three Nations League games, according to the report. At the end of the press conference, he again pointed out the importance of learning from others and being persistent in the process of shaping talent. Returning attention to Gordon's performance will provide huge interest in how the Czechs will handle the English in the upcoming clash, and how Gordon will perform on his current good form in the team's next challenge.
