It was a day for the Catalan teams in the Segunda Federación after Espanyol B crushed them at home with a clean and dominant 5-0 win over Arnedo. The filial got off to a quick start at four o'clock: Jan Peries opened the scoring after promptly carrying the ball from the top of the box, darting inside, and slotting the ball past the opponent's keeper. The lead soon swelled when Eloi Tost pushed on José Ángel's neat delivery from the center of the area — Ariete was barely in the way of the defense as he tapped the ball in. Before the end of the first half, Mullerat added to the tally. After one-upping his keeper with a sharp cut back, the midfielder calmly finished the opportunity to make it 3-0. With the first period still going on, Tost again stepped up for his brace: he was served up by a high-quality assist from Peries and the striker flicked a chip past the oncoming Pradas to make it 4-0. Despite the big advantage, Espanyol B did not let go of the discipline coming back from the break. Controlled rhythm, careful at the back, and rarely in trouble. In the end, it was Santiago who put an end to the rout in the second half, a complete picture of the dominance of the blanquiazules from the first whistle to the last minute.
