Atlético renew Miguel Cubo until 2029, with a clause of €60M

Atlético de Madrid have renewed the contract of Miguel Cubo — 18-year-old forward — until 2029 and set the rescisión clause at 60 million euros after his promotion from Juvenil A and debut in the first team.
Atlético de Madrid has officially renewed Miguel Llorente Cubo's contract until 2029, according to the club's announcement.
The 18-year-old striker is considered one of the biggest talents of Atlético's academy after his colorful campaign this season. Although the campaign began in Juvenil A, Cubo rose to prominence and became an integral part of the Madrileño that made it to the promotion play-offs to Segunda División.
In the Primera RFEF, Cubo recorded 33 games — 18 as a starter — and five (5) goals, which got him noticed by the first team managers. His debut came under Diego Pablo Simeone at the Mestalla against Valencia, where he scored in the 0-2 final on 2 May. Only a few days later he also played 21 minutes at the Metropolitano against Celta de Vigo.

While that number is high for an 18-year-old, it shows the club's confidence in the player's potential.
Atlético celebrated the renewal announcement by sharing childhood photos of Miguel Cubo, where he can be seen wearing the club's pale and red colors since childhood. After signing the contract at the club's office, Cubo told Atlético's website: "It's an honor to wear the jersey of this big club and the more years, the better."
The young player added his ambition: "I want to continue to improve every day as a futbolista and hopefully achieve the most success with this club."
Atlético's move is clearly anticipating Cubo's progression — from the youth ranks to the first team — while the club also protects their asset with a high release clause.
