According to Gianluigi Longari's report, Barcelona are prioritizing closing their interest in Rodri before they fully deal with the more complicated matter involving Julián Álvarez. The report states that the team is temporarily delaying the acquisition of a striker while prioritizing a major midfield signing. The source did not elaborate on the exact steps or schedule of the negotiations, but the message of the report is clear: a 'blockbuster signing' for the midfield position is a priority before returning to the plan for the striker. Longari characterized Álvarez's situation as "complicated," although the report did not list the specific cause of the complication. For observers, that kind of decision usually means prioritizing based on team strategy and which acquisition has the biggest immediate impact on the game. Focusing on a midfield target first can be a result of consideration of squad balance, budget or timeline of talks—elements that are usually behind big transfer moves. However, these are explanations based on the general context of the transfers, and are not directly stated by Longari's report. The possible postponement of the pursuit of Julián Álvarez could bring about different implications: first, the team will have a clearer picture of how much and when they will allocate funds for other targets; secondly, it will affect the coach's tactical plans if the plan relies on the new striker. It is important to note that the report comes from a media source and until there is an official statement from Barcelona or from the parties concerned, this information remains only a report. Fans and pundits will continue to watch for the next news as the transfer window moves. The market and fans will be waiting for confirmation if the Rodri deal will indeed be completed first and when Barcelona will reopen the Julián Álvarez matter. As reports circulate, it remains important to be cautious in interpreting and await an official statement from the team or those concerned.

What's next

After focusing on the acquisition of Rodri, Barcelona are expected to re-evaluate their strategy in the transfer market, especially with Julián Álvarez's situation. Delaying the acquisition of Álvarez could allow for better planning and allocation of funds for other targets. Barcelona's next steps will be crucial to their long-term goals and progress in La Liga.
