His retention at Bayern will help solidify their position in the Bundesliga and their ambitions in European competitions.

Key Points

• Bayern target to seal Harry Kane before the start of the new one.
• Bayern Munich wants to immediately arrange Harry Kane's new contract before the opening of the season.
• Harry Kane remains central to Bayern Monaco's plans.

Bayern Munich are aiming to seal Harry Kane's new long-term contract before the start of the new season, according to reports from Germany. Despite an increase in interest from giant European clubs, the camp at the Allianz Arena remain confident that the England captain will remain with their project. Kane is coming off another stunning campaign, in which he led Bayern to the domestic double crown and was named the Bundesliga's Best Player. Reports added that his World Cup form has remained at a high level. Since his arrival in Munich in the summer of 2023, the striker has reportedly scored 146 goals in 147 matches—numbers that further cement his reputation as one of the world's most effective centre-forwards. He has just one year left on his current deal, causing the market to buzz. However, Bayern have been in contact with Kane's representatives for some time and there is a belief that it is only a matter of time before they get his signature for an extension. The club aims to close the talks before the first whistle of the new season for earlier stability in the squad and a clear direction in attack. As negotiations continue, several other options continue to be kept in the dark. According to reports, there is interest from Saudi Arabia, but at the moment the Englishman is said to not be a priority to move to the Saudi Pro League. MLS is more likely to be seen as the final stage of the career—an idea attractive in the future but not for the immediate term.

In Europe, Barcelona and Real Madrid remain vigilant and are said to be asking for regular updates should the situation change in the coming months. Even Tottenham have an open and allegedly 'non-priority' line, thanks to several provisions included in the deal that brought Kane to Bayern—a scenario in which the former Spurs captain could potentially return if the right conditions work out. Manchester United are also on the list of possible suitors, led by co-owner Jim Ratcliffe who has long admired Kane's performance and is said to be ready to support any surgery if necessary. Chelsea and Manchester City also continue to watch, although there have been no concrete steps from either camp. Despite rumors and transfer talks, Bayern's stance is unchanged: the club hierarchy believe Kane will remain at the Allianz Arena and they aim to complete the signing before the official start of the season. For the Bavarians, the early agreement is key to maintaining their captain's momentum on offense and anchoring the team's plan for the coming months. While waiting for the next move, it's clear that Harry Kane is still one of the hottest names on the market. The question is: is Bayern's confidence and offer enough to seal an extension immediately—or will a serious pursuit complicate the picture? Stay tuned for the next chapter in one of the biggest storylines of the off-season.

What's next

Negotiations between Bayern Munich and Harry Kane's representatives are expected to continue, with the aim of closing talks before the start of the new season. While there have been interests from Premier League clubs and La Liga giants such as Barcelona, Bayern remain positive that they will be able to secure a contract extension. Securing Kane will help Bayern have a clear direction in their attack this coming season.
