A big news in European football is the possibility of the transfer of Beau Reus, the young Dutch goalkeeper, from SK Beveren to Heart of Midlothian or better known as Hearts. According to reports, Reus is currently in Scotland to undergo a medical examination as the final step before his transfer becomes official. Reus made a splash last season with SK Beveren—a team in Belgium where he was a big part of their rise to the Belgian top division. With his leadership at the back as goalkeeper, Beveren recorded a clean sheet streak and won consecutive matches until the championship was clinched. As a result, several teams from various European leagues are showing interest, including Werder Bremen (Germany), Málaga (Spain), and Elche (Spain). But of all this, Hearts are the most determined after they immediately lured Reus to Scotland for a possible immediate signing.

The former coach of Mechelen in Belgium, Wouter Vrancken, is currently in charge of Hearts this summer and he has a lot of faith in Reus. It has been revealed that Vrancken has been a big fan of Reus' talent and has been keen to sign the Dutch goalkeeper. With this move, Hearts' wall at the back becomes more solid which will help in their Scottish Premiership campaign as well as the dream of entering the UEFA Champions League group stage. They are currently scheduled to face Austria's Sturm Graz in the second qualifying round. For Reus, this move is a new challenge after refusing to renew his contract at Beveren due to the number of opportunities that have come his way. This is also a proof that Hearts as well as coach Vrancken have a lot of confidence in his ability. By the time the contract signing is formalized, expect Reus to be central to Hearts' next few games and strengthen their defense against Scottish football's and Europe's biggest rivals. Hearts fans, on the other hand, have high hopes for Beau Reus—a young goalkeeper who is simple but has a strong presence on the pitch and has great potential for even greater success. Look out for the official announcement from Hearts and Beau Reus in the coming days.

What's next

After Reus' medical examination in Scotland, it is expected that Hearts will soon sign him, aiming to include him in their lineup for the coming season. Coach Wouter Vrancken has high confidence in Reus' ability, which could be key to their success in Scottish Premiership football. If his transfer is successful, we may see a big development in his career as a goalkeeper in European football.
