Bertolini and D'Astolfo will work with Siena for a new youth project in women's football
An innovative youth program in women's football was launched in Siena, in partnership with Milena Bertolini and Federica D'Astolfo, dedicated to the holistic development of young players.
A new women's football youth project is being developed in Siena, leaning on an innovative approach that prioritizes the development of the person before the athlete. It is a response to the challenges of the current youth football system in Italy and to the simultaneous rise of the women's football movement that still needs a clear and structured model.
The program aims to be a complete development path: combining technical, tactical and physical aspects with an educational, relational and social dimension. It aims to cultivate young players with awareness, autonomy and responsibility, within a healthy and stimulating sports environment.
In this framework, women's football is viewed as a field that is still being shaped—a “clean sheet” on which to lay an original model that is not simply derived from the male system, but adapted to the specific needs, development trends, and characteristics of young players.
One of the features of the project is the collaboration with the main personalities of Italian football: Milena Bertolini, former coach of the Italian women's national team, and Federica D'Astolfo, former coach of Sassuolo Calcio Femminile. Their presence adds value not only technically but especially culturally and educationally: they will build a bridge between the high level of the game and the grassroots through informative sessions, direct sharing of experience, and technical-cultural contributions.

To strengthen the connection with the community, the club will launch three new minibuses dedicated to the transport of athletes, in partnership with Pampaloni of Siena for the vehicle and the Immagine Studio of Monteroni d'Arbia for the design. They will cover important areas in the province, from Val d'Elsa to the south of Siena—an investment aimed at making participation more accessible and broadening the participation base of young players.
The main objective will remain the long-term development of young players as athletes and as people—a concrete contribution to the promotion of women's football in Italy and to the establishment of a new educative model in sport.
