According to a report by Courier Sport, Will Ferry is among those being monitored by Celtic as the club review a number of candidates in their search for a new left-back. The report claims Ferry has been watched closely by Celtic scouts, as part of the team's wider preparations to have deeper options in the position. The interest in Ferry, according to the source, suggests Celtic are looking for a player who can provide competition and relief in the position currently occupied by Kieran Tierney. There is no formal confirmation yet from Celtic or from Ferry's camp — the news only refers to active observation and evaluation of various names. An important context for such a search is the need of the big clubs of European football to have squad depth, especially in times of many competitions. The readiness at the left-back position — from the loss due to injury to the need to rotate through the league and European competitions — has caused team managers to explore different options. In general, teams look for a left-back with a combination of defensive tenacity, pace, and the ability to contribute to the attack with accurate passes or crosses. If Celtic's view of Will Ferry is genuine, they are likely assessing whether his style fits the team's system and whether he can provide an immediate replacement or develop into a regular option in the future. For now, the Will Ferry news is only part of the early stages of scouting and evaluation within Celtic.

What's next
