• Cesena, alt! Non c'è la firma di Pagliuca. Di Taranto: "Valutiamo scrupolosamente ogni profilo".

The wind has changed in Cesena after the talks for the entry of Guido Pagliuca as the new coach seem to be complete. According to the latest update from the club, Pagliuca remains a hot candidate for the bianconeri seat, but the contract has not yet been signed so the expected immediate announcement will not go ahead. The owner chose to take a little more time to weigh the decision before finally putting the agreement on paper. Amid the anticipation of supporters, Corrado Di Taranto, Cesena's director general, came out to explain the state of the search for a new helmsman. He emphasized that management understands the fans' eagerness, but the club needs to make sure the right choice is made for the future of the team. According to Di Taranto, the director deportivo Andrea Mancini is leading the process and his scrutiny of each candidate is thorough—not to make the fastest move, but to get the right person for the Cesena project. "These days, we observe with respect the wait of our fans. I want to make it clear: the work of our director deportivo is careful, examining every detail because it is right that this decision is not the easiest, but the most correct," stated Di Taranto, who also insisted on collective and constructive dialogue within the club to arrive at the best solution. He added that the new coach will be appointed with full confidence to start the next phase with strength and unity.

At the same time, it is clear that Ashley Cole is no longer in Cesena's plans. This removes any confusion about Cole's possible role in the upcoming season, and narrows down the list of options as the team's preparations for the new Serie B campaign draw closer. For the club from Emilia-Romagna at the Serie B level, the choice of the next coach is critical. This decision will shape the direction of the project—from tactical style to player cultivation—as it prepares for the pre-season and the first matches of the new year. For now, supporters remain waiting to see how the leadership will conclude the negotiations and when the new principal will finally be announced on the sidelines. While there was no formal announcement, Cesena's message was clear: the right choice is more important than a quick decision. The management is asking the bianconeri faithful for trust and patience, in exchange for the promise that a chosen and thought-out leader will be presented—a coach with a combination of skills, new ideas, and enthusiasm that fits the club's ambitions for the coming season.

What's next

In the coming days, Cesena is expected to continue its evaluation of candidates for the position of coach. Corrado Di Taranto and Andrea Mancini will continue to work to ensure that the next coach is capable of leading the team to success in Serie B. Supporters should wait a little longer for the official announcement regarding the new coach.
