Chicago Fire, in talks for free agent Leon Goretzka; The pursuit of Lewandowski continues — report
According to The Athletic, the Chicago Fire are in talks to potentially sign Leon Goretzka after becoming a free agent after leaving Bayern Munich. The MLS club is also pushing to land Robert Lewandowski as it targets its first MLS Cup since 1998.
The Chicago Fire could have a busy summer in the transfer market after The Athletic revealed the team are in talks over the possible signing of Leon Goretzka, who is expected to become a free agent at the end of this month after his contract with Bayern Munich expires.
Although Goretzka is open to another challenge, Chicago will face stiff competition from Europe for his signature. During his stay at Bayern, the German midfielder contributed to Bundesliga championships and added a Champions League trophy to his collection.
