Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in Portugal's match against Uzbekistan on the second day of the FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage, and with his goal became the first player to score in six editions of the World Cup.
For the 41-year-old Ronaldo, this is the sixth edition of the World Cup in which he had a goal. According to the record from previous tournaments: in 2006 he scored one goal in six games; four years later he again scored in four appearances; in 2014 he scored one goal in three games; at the World Cup in Russia (2018) he scored four goals in four games; and in 2022 he scored one goal in five games. Today, his score increased as Portugal started the new edition.
