De Laurentiis on Allegri: "Wait a minute... We need to improve in Europe"
Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Napoli, spoke about the announcement to Massimiliano Allegri and the team's ambitions as the centenary celebrations approach.
“I just arrived from Los Angeles — wait.” This is what Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Napoli, said when asked about the time of the possible announcement of Massimiliano Allegri.
The president of TGR Campania was interviewed and he shared the club's plan for the upcoming centenary: from August 1st to July 31st of next year there are scheduled celebration days. According to De Laurentiis, they will begin some of the activities in July, before the retirement begins.
As for the ambition for next season, De Laurentiis' message is clear: Napoli is the only team that in twenty-two years continues to rise. "We have to stay there and try to improve in Europe," he said.
When it comes to Allegri, he cautioned that it is not right to discuss the details until the appointment is official. "It cannot be discussed until we announce him. Selections are made based on continuity," added De Laurentiis.
He also called out the talk about Matt Rizzetta apparently being part of one of his movies. "She looks like she belongs in one of my movies. But she's lovely... when I said that, I said it all."
