According to overlapping reports from various media, Jürgen Klopp is the leading candidate to become the head coach of the German national team. Sky reports that the former Liverpool coach has already met with German FA (DFB) officials in the United States, led by Hans-Joachim Watzke. Ahead of the World Cup Round of 16 match between Switzerland and Colombia, Klopp himself confirmed to Magenta TV that he had also contacted DFB sporting director Rudi Völler directly. "There are some talks that need to happen, regardless of the outcome.
