England fans have to shell out ₱190,000 just to watch live in Mexico in the World Cup last-16, due to the severe and continuous price increase in resale tickets.

England fans who want to witness their crucial match against Mexico in person in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are in for a real ordeal, after tickets hit a record low of £2,600 each on Fifa's official resale website.

England entered the knockout stage after defeating DR Congo with a score of 2-1, causing them to face co-host Mexico at the Estadio Azteca, Mexico City. The match is scheduled to take place on Monday, 01:00 BST (local time in the Philippines: Sunday night/early day).

The 4,000 tickets allocated for the England Supporters' Travel Club, which went on sale in January, have long been sold out. Because of this, those who want to watch can only get tickets through resale, and the stadium's capacity of 80,824 will be almost filled with Mexican fans eager for the arrival of the Three Lions.

Based on the record, before and after the match against DR Congo, the number of available resale tickets rose from 250 to 429—mostly in the value support section behind the goal. The cheapest resale ticket will cost $3,000 (approx. £2,280), and when including the Fifa purchase fee comes to £2,622—almost twelve times more expensive than face value.

The lowest category four ticket with an original price of $170 (£129) is now going on resale for $5,175 (£3,933), 30 times the original price. In category one, there is a ticket that used to cost $1,595 (£1,212) but is now selling for $5,905 (£4,488). At the most, a category one lower bowl ticket was posted for $31,712 (£24,101) plus a Fifa fee of around $4,757 (£3,615).

On marketplace SeatGeek, the cheapest ticket also comes in at $3,887 (£2,954) - roughly the same price as a category three in the Fifa resale.

However, hotel rates in Mexico City are popular and not as painful to the pocket—there are plenty of rooms available for below £80 for two nights at the match, much cheaper than U.S. rates.

All in all, the sizzle of ticket prices against Mexico is the talk of England right now, posing a challenge to fans who want to see their team live in one of the biggest matches of the 2026 World Cup.
