Costantino Favasuli called on Italian football to show more confidence in young players, also sharing his own journey from Calabria to the national team.
Costantino Favasuli called for more confidence in young players in Italian football, at a forum sponsored by LND Calabria in Catanzaro. According to the player on the Catanzaro side, there is enough talent among the youngsters — what is missing is the courage of the clubs and coaches to put them in a real match.
"It is often said that young people are lacking, but that is not true. The problem is that there must be courage to let them in," said Favasuli, adding that in other countries children are immediately trusted while in Italy the opportunity is often delayed (from LaC News24). "The young people are here and they prove it every day."

The 2004-born Calabria native also shared his journey from local parks to the national stage. "Where I am today, I owe it to my father and mother — especially to my father who gave everything and instilled the love for the game. I was still young, he played me against older people, and that's where my passion for football developed," he said.
Favasuli praised the atmosphere in Catanzaro and the time he celebrated in yellow and red. "I've learned so much. I've seen an amazing group and teammates who can't be beat. It's like we're creating magic that will go down in history. They made me feel the heart and soul — something you don't always find in football. It's been a year I'll never forget."
In the end, he recalled the emotion of first pulling on Italy's blue shirt — one of the highlights of his youth in the professional game. "It's been a dream of mine since childhood. The feeling is indescribable. May it serve as hope for young people from Calabria: with heart and hard work, it is possible to make dreams come true," concluded Favasuli.
