Context

Andrea Petagna, known for his scoring ability, is expected to be a key player for Pisa. His return under Bianco's guidance could allow his continued development as a striker in Serie B. Pisa's new signings show their ambition to achieve success in the league.

Why it matters

The signing of Andrea Petagna is an important step for Pisa in their aim to be more competitive in Serie B. His experience last season, where he scored nine goals, will certainly help in building a more solid attack. Moreover, the signing of new players such as Confente and Correia shows the club's active efforts in the transfer market.

Key Points

• Not only Petagna: Pisa is waking up — Confente at.
• Pisa have signed or will sign some key signings this mercato: Andrea Petagna has already changed teams, while Alessandro Confente and Omar Correia are almost certain.
• Non solo Petagna, il Pisa è scatenato: Confente e Correia in arrivo. E occhio a Pittarello.

Pisa are seriously overhauling their roster this transfer window and their moves don't just end with Andrea Petagna. According to the report, Petagna has completed his medical in Bologna and will arrive in the Tuscany city to sign the contract that will bind him to the Nerazzurri. The 1995-born Petagna bagged nine goals in 31 league games last season while playing for Monza—an experience he will see again under the guidance of coach Paolo Bianco, who will be reunited with a player he prized in promotion last campaign. Petagna's contract is reportedly for two years with an option for a third season — a move that would give Pisa immediate centre-attack experience and provide the goals needed for the team's Serie B ambitions. But Pisa doesn't stop there. The club also almost completed a double acquisition from Juve Stabia: the goalkeeper Alessandro Confente (born 1998) and the midfielder Omar Correia (2000). Confente is reportedly set to replace Simone Scuffet as Pisa's twelfth goalkeeper, although there are rumors that Palermo are tracking Adrian Semper. Both Confente and Correia are expected to sign three-year contracts.

The operation between Pisa and Juve Stabia is estimated to be between 3 to 4 million euros—an amount roughly the same as the income earned by Pisa from Aebischer's move to Union Berlin that was formalized today. In practical terms, Correia will replace Idrissa Tourè, who will be heading to Monza — a sort of swap effect in the movement of players. Behind the confirmed acquisitions, one additional striker remains on the table: Catanzaro's Filippo Pittarello. Negotiations have been put on hold to focus on other operations, but reports say the distance between the two clubs is narrowing. Catanzaro is not willing to drop below 2.5 million euros for his cartel; The 1996-born Pittarello seems determined to wear the nerazzurro as he considers it a step forward in his career. In addition, Catanzaro is also said to be set to sign Emanuele Percorino from Juventus in the coming days—a move that would provide a replacement for the Giallorossi while negotiations for Pittarello could progress. All in all, Pisa are clearly active in the market: they have added experience to the attack with Petagna, strengthened the bench with Confente and Correia, and continue to try to sign Pittarello. This series of moves shows the team's intention to prepare well for the new campaign and once again pursue ambitions in Serie B and possible ascension to the top of Italian football.

What's next

Pisa are expected to complete the signings of Alessandro Confente and Omar Correia soon, bringing new strength to their midfield and defence. The new signings could provide much-needed depth to the squad as the start of the season approaches. The development of the players under coach Paolo Bianco will be key to their success in Serie B.
