Inter have announced the sale of Franco Ezequiel Carboni to Parma while Thomas Berenbruch has been told that any move for him can only be on loan or with an option to buy back.

MILAN — Inter have officially completed the sale of Franco Ezequiel Carboni to Parma, part of the Nerazzurri's efforts to shrink their squad and raise additional funds.

According to the report, after a six-month loan spell at the Stadio Tardini where the youngster performed well, Parma decided to buy Carboni on a permanent basis. He has a contract with Parma until June 2030.

Carboni, who previously played for Club Atlético Lanús and Catania, arrived at Inter in January 2020 and had several loan spells in Italy including Cagliari and Empoli before finally moving to Parma.

Meanwhile, current Inter youth player Thomas Berenbruch was advised yesterday that his possible departure is likely to be limited to a loan or a move with an option to buy back. Berenbruch's agent attended the club's headquarters for a meeting, but Inter have reportedly indicated they intend to keep him for a short time, so a permanent departure without such conditions is not expected.

This situation is similar to what happened to Aleksandar Stanković, who was transferred to Club Brugge last summer but was also brought back to San Siro after a season.

Berenbruch, who celebrated his 21st birthday in May, has been in the Nerazzurri's academy since 2020 and was promoted last season to the Under-23 team that plays in Serie C. According to reports, Cagliari are the current favorites to land his signature, but it could only happen on loan or with an option to buy back for Inter.

No financial details have been announced regarding Carboni's transaction, and Inter are also remaining tight-lipped about the exact terms pertaining to Berenbruch. The move for Carboni is part of Inter's wider plan to restructure their player roster in the current transfer window.
