Lecce on loan: Alex Sala in Mallorca, Filip Marchwinski

According to Tuttomercatoweb.

Context

Alex Sala, with 149 professional games and eight goals, aims to show his skills again in Mallorca after a difficult season with Lecce. His experience in Serie A gives him the foundation to rise to his new challenge in La Liga.

Why it matters

Alex Sala's loan to Mallorca was crucial for his development as a player, especially as he had limited opportunities with Lecce last season. The move to La Liga gives him the chance to get more minutes and regain his form, which is vital to his career in Serie A football.

Key Points

• Lecce loan: Alex Sala in Mallorca, Filip Marchwinski.
• Lecce approve the loan of Alex Sala to Mallorca and the return of Filip Marchwinski to Poland to wear Wisla Cracovia.
• Lecce, due arrivederci in prestito: Alex Sala va al Maiorca, Marchwinski torna in Polonia.

US Lecce continues to operate in the transfer market and has finally approved two loan signings of players who were barely used in the team last season. According to a Sky Sport report, Lecce are close to formally releasing Alex Sala and Filip Marchwinski in order to gain more playing time and be given new opportunities at their respective destinations. Alex Sala has been targeted for a move to RCD Mallorca in Spain — a return to the league he already knows and where he hopes to bounce back and gain regularity. In Serie A, Sala made just six appearances last campaign, a lack of continuity rooted in limited rotation opportunities. Over the course of his professional career, Sala has 149 appearances and eight goals, a statistic that suggests he has experience but needs game-day play to re-emerge. Filip Marchwinski took a different path: he will return to Poland to play for Wisla Cracovia. The loan was awarded due to his very few chances at Lecce — just three appearances in total and no appearances in the 2025-2026 season. Marchwinski's homecoming was described by the club as a chance to regain the rhythm of the game and prove himself again in more familiar surroundings.

For Lecce and coach Mr. Di Francesco, the two operations are part of the club's wider plan to lighten the squad and allow players who don't play regularly to get playing time elsewhere. These types of loans are common in setting a balanced roster even before the bigger moves come in the transfer window. The length of the loans or if an option to buy is included; details are expected to emerge when officially announced by the clubs. Meanwhile, Lecce supporters will be hoping to see more moves in the mercato as the club tries to optimize its squad for next campaign. Sala's move to Mallorca and Marchwinski's return to Wisla Cracovia clearly aim for one thing: minutes, confidence, and a new start for the two midfielders who sought more opportunities after a difficult season at the seleste-giallorossi.

What's next

Sala will be expected to contribute in Mallorca as they aim to earn the trust of the coach and find a more stable position in their midfield. At the same time, Filip Marchwinski will return to Wisla Cracovia to get the necessary rhythm of the game, which may open new opportunities for him in the future.
