Thousands of Lazio supporters marched in Rome against Claudio Lotito
More than 10,000 Lazio supporters gathered in the streets of Rome to protest against president Claudio Lotito, calling for him to step down as manager of the team.
More than 10,000 Lazio supporters staged a massive march through the streets of Rome in protest against president Claudio Lotito, who they demanded leave or separate the team from his influence.
According to the report, Lazio's ultras have been boycotting home matches for nearly a year, even buying season tickets, as a way to show their displeasure with the club's management. When Lotito showed no interest in stepping back or providing clear steps to resolve the tension in the fanbase, supporters announced a mass gathering in the city.

They carried banners and flags, chanted slogans and called for Lotito to sell Lazio.
The organizers of the event called it the biggest protest in the history of Italian football supporters. While Lotito is widely credited with saving the Biancocelesti from the brink of bankruptcy in 2004 and keeping the team operating, supporters worry that this is coming at the expense of the club's sporting ambitions.
Supporters also intensified the protest after it was confirmed last week that Lotito had invested in the purchase of another team, Reggina. That news further enraged some sectors of the fanbase and prompted supporters to stage larger-scale protests.
