Megastar of Real Madrid is ready to leave as a free agent if there is no renewal
Report from Diario AS: Vinicius Jr.'s renewal talks stalled for a long time; the player has decided to stay for 2026-27 but is willing to leave as a free agent if no agreement is reached.
The matter of Vinicius Jr.'s renewal has been going on for a long time. at Real Madrid until it almost disappeared from the media radar. There is an intense silence between the parties, which is a clear sign that negotiations have stopped without being clear why.
According to a report by Diario AS, both the player and the team are interested in extending the relationship, but Vinicius' salary demands for Los Blancos have become an obstacle. The next report said that the Brazilian was ready to reduce the demand, but the conversation did not progress.

That means his future at the club is temporarily secure. However, the player's position is also clear: if an agreement cannot be reached near the end of his contract next year, he will leave without hesitation as a free agent.
The report adds that Vinicius has dropped his salary demands significantly in talks, and there was a closer possible deal when they last spoke. But again the negotiations stopped suddenly. Because of this, the player feels that he is in a stronger negotiating position and knows that the club will lose a lot if he leaves, especially in terms of sports and marketing.
As 2026-27 approaches, Vinicius will have more leverage as he is committed to staying in the squad first. According to the report, his intention is to renew — but only for the right numbers. Intend to continue negotiations after FIFA World Cup 2026; if no agreement is reached, he will leave as a free agent when the contract ends.
