Belgium trembles; Lukaku: "We have to win against New Zealand"

Disappointment for Diavoli Rossi after 1-1 against Egypt and 0-0 against Iran — according to Romelu Lukaku, a win in the final group game is a must.

There is no change in Belgium's hopes: after an early draw against Egypt in their opener, a 0-0 draw against Iran followed tonight — and it left the Diavoli Rossi camp feeling disappointed.

"It's normal to be disappointed," Romelu Lukaku told Sporza after the game. "We had a lot of chances, but the ball didn't go in. We have to analyze this match. We were too emotional in some parts. We had a plan, but we weren't calm enough in important moments."

A small positive for coach Rudi Garcia: he saw Big Rom play for more than an hour. "I'm happy that I played more than an hour, but of course I'm not happy with the result. In the next game, we really have to win," added Lukaku.

The final match in Group G — Belgium versus New Zealand — will determine who advances to the last 16. The schedule has been posted: the next game will be held on 27 June, at 5 am (Italian time).
