It's official: Ajax have sold Mika Godts to Paris Saint-Germain, completing one of the biggest moves this August. The Amsterdammers have confirmed that the total transfer fee, including the corresponding add-ons, will reach 55 million euros. On PSG's side, the Belgian winger has signed a contract until mid-2031 and will wear the number 22 at his new team in Paris. Ajax supporters have long awaited the development of interest from France and now that all the details have been finalised, Godts will join PSG's star-studded line-up. He will be expected to link up in attack with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé, with the aim of adding to the ferocity of the French champions' attack. Before finally crossing to Paris, Godts even scored his last minute for Ajax in their trip against PEC Zwolle, where he came on as a substitute and immediately contributed an assist to Julian Brandt's 0-2 goal. It was a fitting farewell for a player who has been a key piece of the Netherlands' record champions' attack for the past two years.

Since his arrival from RC Genk in 2023, he has made 115 appearances for Ajax, with 26 goals and 28 assists—figures that have proven his development and consistency as a winger with speed, composition and quality in the final pass. Such production put him on the radar of bigger clubs and paved the way for the big move to Ligue 1. For Ajax, this is not only the end of a chapter but also the beginning of a new phase in the market. With the money coming in, Jordi Cruijff will have the freedom to find replacements and depth in the offense. VI previously reported that Noa Lang was among the options should the Belgian leave Ajax—and that's exactly what happened. Lang is currently under contract with Napoli until 2030. On PSG's side, the addition of Godts is seen to give fresh dynamism to their flank play and deeper rotation in the long season. Although their attack is already full of stars, it is still important to have a winger with such production and versatility, especially with a tight calendar in the league and continental competition. All in all, Godts' transfer is a clear statement of intent for both sides: continued rebuilding and re-investment at Ajax, while at PSG it's strengthening the front line to remain competitive at the highest level. Watch how quickly the Belgian winger can adapt to the system in Paris and how Ajax will revive the funds from the sale to keep their attack strong in the next matches.

What's next

Now that Godts is part of PSG, he is expected to be seen in the next Ligue 1 matches, where he will be paired with notable players such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé. On the other hand, Ajax may look for new talents in the summer transfer window to fill his position and continue to develop their squad in Eredivisie football. Ajax supporters will certainly be eager to see who will be their next midfield signing.
