Romelu Lukaku's move from Napoli to Fenerbahce is officially complete. The deal has been confirmed for around €6 million with add-ons, according to the report, and the Belgian striker is set to fly tonight to Istanbul to begin his new chapter in the Turkish Süper Lig. All obstacles have been abandoned after the deal was closed this week, allowing Lukaku's formal move from Serie A club Napoli to traditional Turkish power Fenerbahce. Although the full details of the bonus conditions were not disclosed, it is clear that it was part of the total package between the two sides to complete the transaction. For Fenerbahce, the arrival of Lukaku is a big addition to their attack. The veteran centre-forward is known for his physical presence in the box, ability to break free from defences, and even being a target in the final third — qualities expected to make an immediate impact within the Turkish Süper Lig. This will help the Istanbul-based club's goal to strengthen for the new season and remain competitive at home and abroad.

From Napoli's perspective, the sale of Lukaku is part of an overhaul of the team's record and balance as the new Serie A campaign enters. It also frees up space for other options up front and potentially reinvests funds in line with squad needs. At this point, it is enough to confirm that the player has been transferred and that the agreement between the two clubs is being implemented. By the time he arrives in Istanbul this evening, Lukaku is expected to go through the necessary formalities in relation to his joining Fenerbahce, including the steps normally taken when a new player is welcomed by a club. This will be the opening of a new phase in his career — from experience in various top-flight leagues in Europe to an ambitious project in Turkey. The price of €6 million plus bonus indicates a practical agreement for both sides: capable of providing an immediate solution to Fenerbahce's need in the position of no. 9, while giving Napoli a clear direction in their market plan. Importantly, the timing of Lukaku's flight tonight to Istanbul remains central to the news — a concrete indication that the matter is beyond negotiation and closed for good. All in all, it was a straightforward transfer with a clear objective: Fenerbahce to gather experience and quality up front, and give Lukaku the opportunity to set a new mark at a traditionally strong club in the Turkish Süper Lig. Watch how he will bring his experience within the new environment and system, with the aim of delivering goals and results for the yellow and blue of Istanbul.

What's next

After his arrival in Istanbul, Lukaku is expected to immediately meet his new teammates and begin his training at Fenerbahce. His presence could have a positive impact on their upcoming matches in the Turkish Süper Lig. On the other hand, Napoli will continue their team building process, aiming to find a new striker to fill the gap left in their attack.
