Rashid Rakhimov: Belgium No Clear Plan at World Cup 2026

Former coach Rashid Rakhimov shares his opinion on Belgium's ability in the upcoming knockout round of the World Cup 2026.

Rashid Rakhimov, former head coach of Rubin, expressed his opinion about the future course of Belgium's campaign in the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026. In an interview with Match TV, he said that for several years many have looked up to Belgium as one of the 'dream teams', but they still have not fulfilled the expectation of becoming champions in major tournaments.

"We have been saying for a long time that Belgium must win something, but it still hasn't come true. In their game, it seems unclear what else they need to add to win. If this situation lasts, we will lose confidence if they can really win," said Rakhimov.

He also pointed out that although it is possible for Belgium to get past the first knockout round, they will face tougher opponents in the next stage. "They may win the first round, but when they face stronger teams, they will really struggle," he added.

Belgium finished as the leader of Group G with five points after the group stage.
