Roma are poised to complete their fifth signing of this transfer window. According to the report, Jayden Oosterwolde will be the next to arrive at Trigoria, and the Giallorossi are expected to make the announcement official in the next few hours. This is the next step after the entry of Koulierakis, Castro, Molina, and Mora, while the team also continues to strengthen the sides and is still waiting for a final signature for a winger. Oosterwolde is said to be arriving from Fenerbahçe on a loan worth €1 million, with an option to buy for €15 million, plus up to €2 million in bonuses. This option can become a mandatory purchase when the set condition of 15 appearances of 45 minutes each is reached. Currently, Oosterwolde is leaving Istanbul for the Italian capital to close the final details of the transfer and undergo the process at Roma's club headquarters in Trigoria. A 25-year-old Dutch defender who previously played for Parma, Oosterwolde is known as versatile on the left side of defence. According to the report, he can be used as a left-back and possibly also serve as Wesley's replacement on the left side depending on the needs of the coach. His arrival also sees Roma's response to the need for depth and competition in the position, especially as the club aims to be more solid in defense and more active in transition in the upcoming domestic and European matches.

The addition of Oosterwolde is part of a more systematic retooling of the Giallorossi under the current management. After a string of signings this window, the direction is clear: strengthen the back and flanks, while ensuring the coach has enough options to change systems if necessary. In the face of a busy schedule ahead, having another natural lefty on defense is essential for the rotation and keeping the team fresh throughout the season. Pending the final signing and official unveiling, Oosterwolde's role in his first few months in Italy remains the center of discussion in Rome. The condition related to 15 appearances of 45 minutes each will also provide a clear barometer of how much confidence the coaching staff will give him. If he can immediately show stability and athleticism on the left wing, there is a good chance that the deal will be permanent and he will be a key piece for the Giallorossi in the campaign. All in all, the impending arrival of Jayden Oosterwolde provides an added boost to Roma's transfer window—a move that focuses on depth, flexibility, and a long-term defensive plan, while continuing to search for an additional winger to complete the reconstruction of their flanks.

What's next

It is expected that in the next few hours, Roma will officially announce the transfer of Oosterwolde. After his arrival in Trigoria, he will undergo the final transfer process and medical check-up. His signing is part of Roma's wider plans in the summer transfer window to improve their squad depth and achieve success in domestic and European competitions.
