Torino In Talks For Leicester City Defender Ben Nelson
Torino, currently negotiating with Leicester City for central defender Ben Nelson; Leicester are demanding €7 million for the transfer of the player.
A Sky Sport Italia report confirmed that Torino have started talks with Leicester City over the possible signing of Ben Nelson, a 22-year-old central defender. According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Leicester City are demanding a fee of between €6 million and €7 million–more than what Torino are currently willing to pay for the player.
Nelson, a product of Leicester City's youth academy, has played regularly this season where he has made 27 appearances, one goal and one assist from the back. He also has a lot of experience at England's youth levels and has been called up to the Under-21s several times, although he has yet to get an official cap.
Apart from Nelson, Torino are also investigating the option of signing Andrea Giorgini, 24, from SudTirol, who coach Ignazio Abate used to work with when they were together at Juve Stabia in Serie B.
The swap talks between the management of Torino and Leicester City are still ongoing, and there is no confirmed agreement on the transfer fee. Fans will be waiting to see if Ben Nelson will indeed be part of Torino's new defense for the coming season.
